Signs you need a gas fitter

Some gas problems announce themselves. Others tick away quietly in the background. If any of these sound familiar, get it looked at:

  • Smell of gas near an appliance, bottle or the meter
  • Yellow or sooty flames instead of a crisp blue
  • Hissing sounds near gas lines or bottles
  • Soot marks or scorching around burners
  • New appliance that needs connecting or converting
  • Pilot light that keeps going out
  • Cooktop or heater not reaching full heat
  • Gas bills climbing with no other explanation

Install, service or repair — we’ll tell you straight

We diagnose first. If a repair is safe and will genuinely last, we’ll say so. If an appliance has had its day, you’ll get clear options — supply and install, or fit a unit you’ve already bought — with the exact price in writing. Nothing goes ahead until you say so.

GoodA safe, compliant repair or reconnection that solves the problem properly.
BetterA quality appliance upgrade, installed and certified, with lower running costs.
BestThe premium, set-and-forget solution — efficient, warrantied, done once, done right.

Good questions

I can smell gas — what should I do?
Turn the gas off at the meter or bottle, open windows and doors, and don’t flick switches or light flames. If the smell is strong, get everyone outside first and call us from there — we treat suspected leaks as same-day priority.
Do I need a licensed gas fitter?
Yes — in Tasmania all gas work must be done by a licensed gas fitter, and you’ll receive a compliance certificate when the job’s done. Unlicensed work is illegal, can void your insurance and puts your household at risk.
What gas work do you do?
Installs, servicing and repairs for cooktops, ovens, heaters and gas hot water — plus new gas lines, LPG conversions, leak detection and safe disconnections. Natural gas and LPG, homes and businesses, all priced in writing before we start.

Gas sorted. Certificate in hand.

The problem fixed, the price exactly what you approved, your home spotless. That’s the feeling 1,136 of your neighbours reviewed.
